Abstract
Background and Aim: Permanent congenital hearing loss is a very serious, usually underestimated and misdiagnosed condition that influences the normal development of newborns. The aim of the study is to determine the accuracy and effectiveness of a hospital-based universal newborn hearing screening program for the early detection of permanent congenital hearing loss in West Crete using both TEOAEs and DPOAEs.
