Abstract

Standards in safety-critical software require tool qualification. On December 2011, the DO-330, a dedicated standard for tool qualification to be used in airborne and CNS/ATM systems was released and provided guidance to conduct the Tool Qualification Process. After that, with some adaptations, other domains or technologies such as automotive, space, systems, electronic hardware, aeronautical databases, and safety assessment processes were able to use the DO-330. This paper describes a successful case of use and adaptation of this standard to Aeronautical Databases, within the scope of the new RTCA DO-200B.
