Abstract

1. A new method of measuring endothermic heat effects with the aid of the exothermic Peltier effect has been developed. 2. The dependence of the heat effect in that part of the thermocouple included in the calorimeter system on the magnitude and direction of the current in the thermocouple circuit has been analyzed. 3. The experimentally obtained values of the opposing currents which generate heat effects of equal absolute magnitude in the thermocouple are in good agreement with those calculated by the derived equation.
