Abstract

Short Message Service (SMS) technology is a popular service among cellular phone users in Indonesia. The development of the SMS facility has been developed in the utilization of Real Count Application. However, the facility in the form of SMS has a vulnerability in the form of wiretapping. The problem that occurs is that there is a gap in knowing the data in the Real Count Application system message delivery so that unauthorized parties can access it. The biggest security gap in SMS communication is when messages are read and stored in the Short Message Service Center (SMSC) for delivery to the database. One solution to overcome this problem is the application of the Advanced Encryption Standard algorithm for encryption of Short Message Service in Real Count Applications. The results obtained with the application of the Advanced Encryption Standard Encryption Algorithm will be able to increase the security of messages sent and ensure their confidentiality against receiving short messages in the real count application system.
