Abstract
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), the world’s largest University, has continuously striven to build a knowledge society through inclusive education. While IGNOU has always been a pioneer in the area of Open and Distance Learning (ODL), IGNOU today is making a valuable contribution towards the Digital Revolution in the field of education. It is leading the way for promotion of ICT applications across all its operations, from teaching–learning to provide technology-based support services. This chapter is to discuss contribution of IGNOU to higher education in the country, effective use of technology for internal processes, digital initiatives in provided for learner’s support, challenges faced in implementation of technology and best practices being followed by the University.
