Abstract
Risk analysis, as applied to North Sea oil projects, is described. Two projects in particular are presented as examples: the Murchison and Hutton fields. The unpredictable North Sea weather conditions make risk analysis particularly suited to these projects. The advantages of the technique are outlined, along with some of its disadvantages.
