Abstract

AbstractRetardants prevent lodging, since they block the growth of shoots in length and stimulate an increase in their diameter. The use of retardants in the fight against lodging of grain crops has become an integral part of intensive technologies for their cultivation in many countries of the world. It turned out that timely inhibition of the growth of vegetative organs of plants can contribute to the development of a number of useful economic traits in them. A comparative analysis of the effect of the retardant Mepiquat-chloride and the growth stimulator Gummikas on the growth of the stem and lodging of soft winter wheat plants in the soil and climatic conditions of Uzbekistan has been carried out. It was shown that the preparation Mepiquat chloride inhibits the growth of the stem in length, promotes its thickening and the accumulation of dry biomass. Thanks to this, the lodging of plants is reduced and at the same time the loss of grain yield is reduced.KeywordsAgriculture industryRetardantsMedium-sized soft wheat varieties
