Abstract

Petroleum porphyrins were studied for purposes of clarifying the origin of petroleum-derived porphyrins from organic precursors. Vanadyl complexes of porphyrins were isolated from Cretaceous oils from Western Siberia and Paleogenic oils from Southern Uzbekistan. To avoid the Vanadyl-induced line broadening of signals in the PMR spectra the samples were demetallized. PMR spectra were obtained on a Bruker WM-360 spectrometer in a deuterochloroform solution.
