Abstract

Historically, oxytocin has been given as a high-dose intravenous (IV) infusion at delivery to reduce blood loss, but low-dose oxytocin given as an IV push may be equally effective. We hypothesize that a low-dose IV push of oxytocin is non-inferior to a high-dose infusion of oxytocin for prevention of blood loss at cesarean delivery.
