Abstract

The effect of important parameters in inductively coupled plasma analysis (ICP), such as the incident power, nebulizer gas flow, and diameter of injector tube, on background and analyte emission was investigated. By use of the C line, C/sub 2/, CN bands and several atom and ion lines, changes in their intensity as a function of the parameters were investigated. Optimum conditions were chosen and several oil samples were analyzed. Results together with recommended values are presented. 12 references, 7 tables.
