Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine if using a variety of teaching strategies in the staff development setting would affect learner outcomes with regard to knowledge acquisition and participant satisfaction. A control group class was presented with the use of lecture only. An experimental group class was presented using a variety of teaching strategies. Posttest scores from the experimental group were significantly higher than those from the control group, as were satisfaction levels. Findings indicate that the use of a variety of teaching strategies can result in positive learner outcomes.
