Abstract
AbstractEvidence is given for the relationship describing the approximate dependence of the observed melting points Tm of oligomers on their degree of polymerization n, and its use in determining the equilibrium melting point T°m of the extended chain crystal and the heat of fusion Δh. Polyethylene and the n‐alkanes, poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(methylene oxide), polyphenylene and other systems are considered.
