Abstract

The pandemic situation of COVID-19 has led to the requirement for using online platforms in the fields of education, industry, finances, and the medical industry. The transactions among the various applications of the fields are prone to various cyber-attacks and crimes. The fast development of society leads to difficulty in identifying such attacks and crimes. To overcome this problem, computational techniques such as soft computing and machine learning approaches have been effectively implemented by researchers, and these techniques are capable enough to detect the slightest change in a large chunk of data. With the exponential increase in online transactions, there is still more research needed for the upcoming cyber-attacks. The privacy and protection of data during the online transaction along with the protection of data from the storage site should also be the primary responsibility of all protection mechanisms. In this chapter, various cyber threats, attacks, and similar issues have been discussed in detail followed by their solutions.
