Abstract
mark the scales'and otoliths of fishes (Fry et al., 1960) and two reports on the use of tetracycline to mark the bony tissues of fish (Weber and Ridgway, 1962; and Kobayashi et al., 1964) have dealt with fresh-water or estuarine species. We report here our results with lead acetate, lead versenate, and tetracycline on four marine species: the Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua), the Atlantic tomcod (Microgadus tomcod), the summer flounder (Paralichthys dentatus), and the winter flounder (Pseudopleuronectes americanus).
