The extent of the urban area growth in Norway has now been calculated and urban area statistics have been published. The article also deals with the problem of what is really meant by urban land, and how fast urban land is growing in Norway compared to other countries. Great variation in the use of land for urban purposes can be observed. Some of them are discussed in the article.
