CME Educational Objectives 1. Distinguish the mechanism of action of isotretinoin and its indications for use in the treatment of acne vulgaris. 2. Analyze the side-effect profile of isotretinoin and the necessity for routine follow-up during therapy. 3. Outline the evolution of current regulatory mechanisms in place for pregnancy prevention in patients taking isotretinoin.
