Abstract

The use of ICT tools has simplified the process of delivering education, developing interesting and interactive lesson plans, and evaluating students' progress. While students now have an easier time accessing a broad variety of learning resources, collaborating with their peers, and engaging in self-directed learning because of the implementation of these technologies, assessing their influence on the teaching and learning process is rarely explored. Thus, the research primarily looks at the impact of use of ICT devices in teaching-learning and mapsits challenges at secondary-level education. A cross-sectional survey method has been applied for primary data collection with a structured questionnaire. The findings indicate that the majority of the respondents agree about the effectiveness of ICT devices for teaching management and the significance of the use of ICT devices in classroom management. However, insufficient electricity supply and low internet connection in the rural area are the major constraints of use of ICT devices in the classroom, followed by advanced teachers’ training of the teacher from non-technical background. Although there are a few challenges to overcome, the advantages far exceed the disadvantages. Hence, it is recommended to go on with the development and incorporation of new technologies (i.e., blended learning) into the process of teaching-learning in order to improve the standard of education.
