Abstract
The use of high-porosity cellular ceramic materials in packed distillation columns is considered. Hydrodynamic and mass-transfer characteristics of packing based on these materials are experimentally estimated. Using the purification of chloroform from close-boiling impurities by distillation as an example, a comparison of plate distillation columns and distillation columns with the proposed packing is conducted.
