Abstract
We derive an analytical expression for the Green function of the helium atom, that is to say for the helium atom where the electron repulsion term (e2 / r12) has been neglected. It is outlined that this Green function may be used as a basis for a numerical iterative procedure to derive the exact eigenfunctions of the helium atom.
