Abstract

Ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) experiments were performed as a function of temperature (18–300 K) on magnesium ferrite nanoparticles precipitated in magnesium oxide, for two different annealing times. By measuring the relative intensities of the spectra due to superparamagnetic particles and the anisotropy field of the spectrum due to ferromagnetic particles, we determined the size distribution of magnesium ferrite particles. The same method can be applied to other systems of interest, such as magnetic fluids and magnetic powders.
