Abstract
Complex susceptibility measurements provide a unique and efficient means for the investigation and determination of the dynamic properties of magnetic fluids. In particular, measurement of the frequency and field-dependent complex susceptibility, χ( ω)= χ′( ω)−i χ″( ω), of magnetic fluids has proven to be an excellent technique for investigating the resonant properties of magnetic fluids since resonance is identified by the χ′( ω) component going from a −ve to a +ve value. Here we demonstrate how the accurate experimental data obtained from such measurements may be utilised in determining many properties of magnetic fluids.
