Abstract

1. The use of ejectors in the suction line increased the operating efficiency of dredges by increasing the excavation depth and eliminating losses of work time due to disruption of the vacuum. 2. Up to a depth of 12–15 m the ejector for the ZGM-1-350A dredges with a discharge of 1280–1400 m3/h can be used economically with the 12NDS pump outfitted with a 100-kW, 1000-rpm motor at a discharge of 100 m3 h and head of 24 m. 3. The use of ejector dredges for excavating severely boulder-clogged muds and muddy deposits of lakes and ponds is not expedient.
