Abstract

A proximate method, which utilizes dynamic probing with a small-scale rig for inspection of the foundations on clayey soils, is discussed. Concise results are cited for field tests conducted to substantiate the procedure, and an empirical formula is presented for calculations. An example of the practical application of this procedure and the equipment used to inspect the slab foundation of a damaged building in Ufa are cited.
