Abstract
AbstractA study has been carried out to determine the effect of deformation on the dielectric properties perpendicular to the deformation direction of amorphous polycarbonate. The dielectric tan δ shows a decreasing trend during mechanical creep and increases during recovery. The reverse trend was observed for the dielectric constant, ϵ′. The experiments at different stress levels indicated that the changes in tan δ closely follow mechanical creep and recovery. Under stress, the β‐relaxation appears to shift to a higher temperature as a function of frequency.
