Abstract

Abstract The first part of the article introduces the concepts of data reconciliation. It is a method that uses information redundancy and conservation laws to correct measurements. Its benefits are numerous and range from improved measurements lay-out to increased plant efficiency. The second part of the article deals with practical applications of data reconciliation software BELSIM-VALI. A few examples are then shown illustrating the benefit of this technology in various power plants, technology which has been recommended in the VDI 2048 Bericht (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure) for performance auditing of power plants.
