Abstract
Atmospheric moisture can be condensed as dew and used for small-scale irrigation. In Bahrain, we found that the most favourable conditions for dew condensation persist at dawn. The maximum amount of dew water can be collected in January and the least in August. Three condensation surfaces have been tested; aluminum, glass and polyethylene foils. The average quantity of dew collected on these surfaces was 1.3, 0.8 and 0.3 kg/m 2 per h, respectively. The condensation rate, water vapour content of the air, and the dew points of Bahrain's climate have been reported.
