Abstract
Cadusafos granules (Rugby ® 100G) provided control of larvae of Childers canegrub, Antitrogus parvulus Britton, and southern 1-year canegrub, A. consanguineus (Blackburn), in infested ratoon crops of sugarcane in southern Queensland. Providing larval numbers are above a damaging level, such control resulted in increased yields of sugarcane. Rates as low as 20 kg product/ha (3 g product per row m) were effective. Cadusafos was at least as effective as ethoprophos (Mocap ® 10G) at 25 kg product/ha and, at these rates, both cost about the same. Control of larvae of A. parvulus with terbufos (Counter ® 150G) was inconsistent between two trials and in neither trial did application result in yield increases.
