Abstract

Due to the global pandemic caused by CoViD-19, the education sector has been challenged and introduced an alternative modality of teaching and learning which is blended learning. This modality provides flexibility, collaboration, and interaction among the students, teacher, and learning resources. This action research primarily seeks to investigate the effects of blended learning approach in teaching Newton's laws of motion. In this study, students utilized worksheets, lecture-video, PowerPoint presentation, and PhET interactive simulation that would help them to understand the lesson of Newton's laws of motion in both synchronous and asynchronous sessions. Pre-synchronous worksheet and post-synchronous worksheet scores revealed that there is a significant change in students’ conceptual understanding of Newton's laws of motion. Student Perception on Instruction Questionnaire was administered to determine students’ perception towards blended learning approach. The results revealed that blended learning approach had improved students’ conceptual understanding of Newton's laws of motion and students perceived the blended learning approach positively.
