Abstract

We consider the separate determination of irradiation doses in fields with mixed beta and gamma radiation. This measurement problem arises when estimating the degree of gravity of radiation injury to people who have been irradiated with ionizing radiation as a result of a nuclear accident (explosion). It is shown to be possible in principle to utilize a spectrometer—dosimeter with a phoswich scintillator for these purposes.
