Abstract
Background: During Fiscal Year 2015 a significant increase was observed in our Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) incidence rate. Concerns were raised regarding staff insertion practices which prompted a Foley insertion gap analysis to determine the most common areas of error procedurally and in aseptic technique. By utilizing the results of the gap analysis to educate staff on proper insertion techniques we will reduce our incidence rate.
