Abstract

The appraisal of economic or strategic added-value of Intranet technologies is a very difficult exercise. Sructurationnists shed light on this problem by considering IT uses at two levels. The first one which corresponds to appropriation first degree, that is to say the sense an individual gives to IT when he uses it. The second level, linked to appropriation second degree, lays in considering that an organization's deep social structures can evolve or reinforce themselves through IT use. By putting together theses evolutions with Critical Success Factor (CSF), we can then evaluate the possible value induced by the more innovative King of IT uses. Then, the study of France Telecom Lyon enables us to precise our model by confronting it to a concrete situation.
