Abstract

A simplified kinetic equation describing the dependence of the oxidative induction time on temperature and concentration of the antioxidant in polyethylene is deduced. In order to obtain kinetic parameters (values characteristic of a given polymer-antioxidant system) it is necessary to measure induction time at two different temperatures for one antioxidant concentration in a given polymer.
