Abstract

Diabetic neuropathy (DN) is the most frequent complication of diabetes mellitus (DM), one of the leading causes of a decrease in the quality of life of patients, the development of fatal cardiac arrhythmias, painless myocardial infarction, renal failure, and disabling amputations. Diabetic neuropathy is a dysfunction of the somatic (autonomic) and / or peripheral nervous system caused directly by specific diabetic pathophysiological and dysmetabolic processes
