Abstract Clarity Turbidity usually is normal due to crystal formation at room temperature. Uric acid crystals form in acidic urine, phosphate crystals in alkaline urine. Cellular material and bacteria can also cause turbidity. Dipsticks and Test Tapes IRIS Chemstrips (Roche; Basel, Switzerland) and Multistix (Bayer; Tarrytown, NY) For the determination of specific gravity, pH, leukocytes, nitrite, protein, glucose, ketones, urobilinogen, bilirubin, and blood in urine.
