Abstract

We previously showed that anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) concentrations in pre-ovulatory follicular fluid (FF) positively correlated with serum AMH, a commonly used marker of ovarian reserve, and associated with improved pregnancy outcomes among women undergoing fertility treatment. Thus, identifying modifiable lifestyles, such as environmental exposures, which are associated with FF AMH has become a public health matter and is understudied. In particular, exposure to phthalates, endocrine-disrupting chemicals commonly used as plasticizers, has been associated with infertility and premature ovarian failure.
