Abstract

When rats suffering from protein-calorie malnutrition (kwashiorkor) were given chloroquine, urinary levels of unchanged drug increased while chloroquine metabolites decreased. This qpparent inhibition of chloroquine metabolism was eliminated by refeeding the animals.
