Abstract
A high-level report commissioned by the Australian Federal government has called for a national body to be established to tackle the country's shortage of radiotherapists and equipment. The Vision for Radiotherapy report was the result of the Radiation Oncology Inquiry, which found that radiotherapy services in Australia are in serious trouble. The report warns that about 10 000 people are missing out on vital treatment each year and that services are likely to fall even further behind if urgent action is not taken.
