Abstract
This paper discusses the urgency of linguistic communication in social interaction. Communication is a necessity that is needed in verbal and written communication. Integrating language skills is the only approach that must be taken in interactive communication. Communication and language seem like two sides of a coin, that is, where there is communication, there is at least one language, and vice versa. The urgency of linguistic communication is even more important in many other aspects of social life. Linguistic communication is not just a matter of sending and receiving messages, but it also involves sensitivity to emotional factors and the complex and subtle dynamics that operate between people. In social interaction, humans always use language in communication, both verbally and nonverbally. Verbal communication is called linguistic communication. In linguistic communication, universal direct communication is understood by other communicators because communication is done using spoken language. That is, if the recipient of the message does not understand it, he can immediately clarify it to the sender of the message. There are many things involved when linguistic communication is carried out, such as individual identity, social structure, culture, context, and social interaction
