Abstract

SummaryA technique is described to cure stress incontinence in the female by urethral advancement. This technique is easily combined with a standard anterior repair. It is of particular value when a previous repair operation has failed and when scar tissue has distorted the urethral anatomy. It has also proved successful in cases of stress incontinence associated with a urethrocoele, when there is a “concertina” effect of the urethra.
