Abstract

The activity of the enzymes of the urea cycle has been measured in the liver of normal and hyperthyroid rats. It is shown that in the thyrotoxic state ornithine transcarbamylase is reduced and arginase is increased, while carbamyl phosphate synthetase and the arginine synthetase system are unchanged.
