Abstract

AbstractExtant studies document a decrease in political participation in most European economies in recent decades; the trend has been more pronounced for youth. Although studies suggest that, at least for youth, traditional modes of participation have been widely replaced with broader civic engagement, little empirical evidence is available for the post‐transition economies, particularly on the sub‐national economy level. By relying on the survey conducted in the spring of 2021, the paper explores differences in the forms of youth engagement in Croatia, disaggregated by settlement size. The focus is on different forms of engagement as well as youth profiles.
