Abstract

Non-Point Source (NPS) pollution is of wide interests in the research on urban environmental protection and pollution treatment. This paper aims to review the typical research work on environmental monitoring and control for NPS pollution in Qingdao City, China. It is indicated that the major sources of NPS pollution in this city are rainfall runoff, dry and wet atmospheric deposition, river sediment release, aquaculture wastewater, and water transportation. Meanwhile, effective methods including engineering and non-engineering measurements to control the NPS pollution are also discussed.
