Abstract
Abstract The Florida Division of Forestry has, since 1971, developed an urban forestry program in the South. Florida counties and municipalities, in cooperation with the Division, sponsor forestry programs that currently employ 19 urban foresters. Enlightened environmental legislation, rapid growth of cities and a subtropical climate have created innovative forest management.
