Abstract

Urban development and Municipal Health Promotion complement each other. Where as urban development is based on normative regulations and--with regard to health--rather orientates to protecting against health hazards, municipal Health Promotion aims beyond that at the mobilisation and strengthening of public and individual health resources. Both spheres should undergo greater integration in the future.
