Abstract
The paper focuses on, how urban design strategies could be adapted to make elder friendly quality spaces, which would aid other age groups as well. The topic urges the quest for “elder friendly spaces” in this super mobile world. The outdoor environment is important not only in terms of independence but also in terms of affecting the everyday experience for older people. This work brings about urban design guidelines and strategies focusing on macro and micro-site features causing major aggravation for people who are old or less mobile basically concentrating on the neighbourhood outdoor spaces that need to be designed for the ease and comfort of everyone, whether children or old.
