Abstract
The fluorite's exsolution/recombination in oxygen-hypostoichiometric U1−yPuyO2−x (y = 0.30 and 0.45) and PuO2−x was investigated using differential scanning calorimetry. The obtained temperatures are in relatively good agreement with the literature data, except for plutonia which are 30∼50 K lower than previously reported. Our values indicate that the miscibility gap in MOX, and more precisely in Pu−O, has a relatively flat-top shape. Finally, the systematic experimental procedure allowed us to refine the locus of the solvus existing in hypostoichiometric U0.70Pu0.30O2−x, U0.55Pu0.45O2−x, and PuO2−x dioxides.
