Abstract

Uranium of Mongolia , by Yuri B. Mironov (originally published in Russian in 2003 and translated here into English), provides a comprehensive overview of the history and current uranium exploration status in Mongolia. The knowledge about this specific topic in the West is limited because very little information is available except for that in the Russian literature. In fact, the volcanogenic uranium deposit type, which is discussed in detail in this book, has not been well documented before in the literature. With the development of new technology, the application of nuclear power is on the verge of achieving widespread acceptance. The demand for uranium resources will be increasing with the subsequent construction of numerous nuclear reactors worldwide. Uranium exploration is thus moving ahead at a rapid pace and this book is being published just in time to fit into the global uranium exploration boom.
