Abstract

Deciduous human teeth have been analysed in a study of environmental radium exposure. Uptake of radium into tooth mineral is generally proportional to the exposure to radium-bearing water at the time of tooth formation. The concentration within the tooth is relatively greater in the enamel fraction. The metabolic stability of deciduous tooth mineral is confirmed by these studies.
