Abstract
Adsorbed states of carbon monoxide on Pd/graphite catalysts were examined by UPS. The spectra show that the induced levels of (5σ + 1π) and 4σ of the adsorbed carbon monoxide at 77 K shift to higher binding energy with a decrease in the Pd particle size. The adsorption strength of carbon monoxide is discussed in terms of thermal desorption behaviour and results from the CO/Fe/Gr system.
