Abstract
Parking management in Serbian cities and towns is the responsibility of city/municipal administrations which adopt policies and measures. On the basis of data gathered in 13 cities, this paper analyzes how successful they are in parking management. In other words, it analyzes and assesses current parking state in Serbian cities. It also identifies the causes of poor state, i.e. the common mistakes made in parking management which contributes to such state. In this sense, the absence of integrated transport system management, inadequate measures applied as a result of "expert" assessment, as well as problems in practical implementation of adopted measures are especially emphasized. Finally, in accordance with the identified issues, guidelines for more successful management are suggested.
